If you would like to become a model, then read below for some great tips from Renee' and be sure to read more on Renee's website!
T-B-S.com: What is the best beauty tip you would give to anyone who wants to become a model?
Renee': I always advise our girls to get a good moisturizer that they will use everyday - if they use no other beauty products invest in a good moisturizer - one that has all natural ingredients.
T-B-S.com: Great advice! I couldn't agree more! What is the biggest beauty blunder you see aspiring models make?
Renee': The biggest mistake I see models make is to change their hairstyle without consulting with their modeling agency, this can cause a lot of problems if the agent has the model in mind for a certain look to represent their clients, also do not get any tats or body markings without consulting with their agent, many clients do not like the look especially for lifestyle and commercial bookings.
T-B-S.com: How can one increase their chances of success in the business? What's the quickest way to become a model?
Renee': Learn all that you can about the business, who the photographers are, the stylists, study the magazines for looks and keep up on the styles, always take the advice of your modeling agent and always update your portfolio book.
T-B-S.com: What is the not-so-beautiful side of modeling? Paint the real picture for those girls with stars in their eyes.
Renee': The main thing to know is that if you want to be a fashion model there are height requirements and also size requirements, they should know that there are so many different types of modeling not just high fashion. Do not do freelance modeling without an agency there are too many traps for a new model to fall into.
T-B-S.com: So, what should you look for in a modeling agency?
Renee': When you go to the agency for an open call or go see to meet with the agents there are several things to look out for - agencies get paid from commissions from bookings that you get thru the agency - you do not pay an agency up front fees, you do not pay a modeling agency to take your photographs - they may recommend you to photographers that like to work with but you never pay the agency directly for the photo's you pay the
photographer or the photo studio.
T-B-S.com: Lots of great tips for all those aspiring models out there, Renee'! Thanks so much for your time!
